Across 8,476 vessels observed through August, 641 asking prices were reduced and 25 were raised — 26:1 reductions for every increase. The dominant seller decision was still to wait. But when a seller did move, the median reduction was 7.5%, and 71.6% of reductions were at least 5%.
Advertised asking prices, and the changes sellers make to them — not transaction prices. Movement is measured on vessels observed at both ends of the month, in the currency of the original listing, with changes within ±2% treated as unchanged.
What it does not claim: that asking prices are completed transaction values; that a listing leaving the market is a confirmed sale; or that a tracked sample share estimates a whole national market. The report states the limits of each figure alongside it.
